The clients we see generally have a lot of health knowledge already. They exercise religiously. They're concerned about food quality. They're dieting - even if they don't realise it. They count their macros or calories, consider foods as "good" or "bad", or are strict paleo, keto, sugar-free, or vegan. Unfortunately for all their efforts, they aren't getting the results they're hoping for. In fact, their attempts to be healthy are often causing more harm than good. And it's not their fault. We live in a confusing, image-orientated climate of healthism and celebrity-idolisation, where unfounded and harmful health advice can be widely dispersed for the wrong reasons. We work with people to help them discover what health really means to them - not just the appearance of health, but genuine health. What the media and diet culture portray as "healthy" and what actually is healthy are two very different things. |

Food is fuel and medicine... but it's also pleasure and celebration! We can't have holistic health if we focus only on the physical (what foods) and cut out the socio-cultural aspects of health (how we eat food). Both are important.
We encourage people to keep food as simple and as enjoyable as possible. In the last decade food has been over-complicated, heavily marketed, and Insta-styled to the max. Green juice is the new black, and every meal needs to contain the latest exotic superfood, or we "might miss out on something!" This is not only unnecessary but stressful.
