Casey has been an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist since 2012, and a Yoga Teacher since 2006. Her passion is helping women to free themselves from body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and weight preoccupation. She also loves working with pregnant women, new mums and their bubs. She believes that we can learn a great deal about how to best care for ourselves from observing nature's cycles, from ancient traditions, and from listening to our bodies.
In her work she draws upon her parallel life as a yoga teacher of 14 years; her childhood growing up exploring forests, picking bush foods, watching her Malaysian mum incorporate Traditional Chinese Medicine into everyday cooking and life, and exploring remote corners of Australian wilderness with her meditation-addicted dad; her past life as a veterinarian and environmental researcher; and her lived experience with and full recovery from disordered eating.
Her practise is strongly aligned with the Health at Every Size® paradigm. Her treatment draws upon additional studies in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, yoga psychology, the Non‐Diet Approach, Motivational Interviewing and Art Therapy. A passionate holistic dietitian, she has studied multiple naturopathic subjects at tertiary level and has additional training in traditional herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, Chinese medicine, and Ayurveda. Casey loves to integrate the effective treatment of eating disorders and weight concern with counselling, evidence-based natural medicine, earth-honouring traditions, and mind-body modalities such as yoga.
In her spare time Casey loves to write – she is a feature columnist for Living Now magazine and an avid blogger. She enjoys painting, napping, weaving, growing food, making herbal medicines, smoke cleansing the hell out of her home, 80’s glam metal, outdoor yoga, campfires, travel, and exploring forest trails with her husband Andreas and two young children.

What is an accredited practising dietitian?
Casey is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutritionist (AN). This means Casey is suitably qualified to give expert nutrition and diet assessment and advice to individuals and groups, as well as rebates to patients under Medicare, DVA and most private health funds. The APD and AN symbols are your guarantee that Casey's tertiary training course is accredited by the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), and that she meets their ongoing Continuing Professional Development standards.
As an APD, Casey also upholds a high standard of professional conduct, abiding by the DAA Code of Professional Conduct and Statement of Ethical Practice. It also provides you with an avenue to pursue a complaint about Casey's professional conduct – be assured this is insurance you will never need to use.
