How to Avoid Unintentionally Reinforcing Disordered Eating in Natural Health Practice

A 60-minute live clinical training for naturopaths, nutritionists, herbalists, and natural health practitioners who want to practise with clarity — not guesswork.

Save My Seat (It’s Free!)

Most health practitioners were taught to spot (some) red flags.
But we were not taught what to do next.

  • When to stabilise vs support
  • When referral is non-negotiable
  • How to assess adequacy before escalation
  • How to protect scope while protecting your client

Who this Training is for

This training is for you if:

  • You’ve had a client where you weren’t sure if it was “just dieting” or something more - and felt uncertain about your next step.
  • You worry about unintentionally reinforcing restriction, weight-loss praise, or “clean eating” narratives - even when your intentions are good.
  • You want to stay firmly within scope without abandoning your client or overstepping your role.
  • You’ve realised that red flag screening alone isn’t enough - and that university training didn’t fully prepare you for the grey areas of disordered eating in practice.
  • You value ethical, weight-neutral care, and want a clearer clinical pathway to practise it confidently.

This session is designed for practitioners committed to nuanced, client-centred, scope-aware practice.
This training is not for you if:

  • You are primarily focused on weight-loss optimisation.
  • You believe eating disorders are rare in natural health settings or only present at extreme clinical levels.
  • You are looking for quick behavioural “fixes” without examining scope, safety, or ethical impact.

During this live clinical training, we'll explore:

✔ The subtle ways well-meaning practitioners reinforce restriction without realising
✔ Why red flag screening alone is not enough
✔ A simple stabilise–support–refer decision pathway
✔ The most common scope boundary mistakes in natural health practice
✔ How to assess adequacy before escalating protocols

Meet your host

Casey Conroy is a naturopath, Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), and Certified Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC-D) specialising in disordered eating and weight-neutral care.

She works clinically with clients navigating chronic dieting, metabolic conditions, and eating disorders - and trains natural health practitioners in ethical, scope-safe practice.

After years in practice, Casey recognised a critical gap:
Natural health practitioners are often taught to identify red flags, but not how to navigate the complex grey areas between “just dieting” and diagnosable eating disorders.

Her work focuses on:
  • Protecting clients from unintended harm
  • Helping practitioners practise within scope without abandoning care
  • Bridging naturopathic principles with trauma-informed, evidence-based frameworks

This live clinical training draws directly from the framework behind her practitioner program, designed to help natural health clinicians move from uncertainty to structured confidence.
